Personally I really don't think the story is about either of them really. It's more about the image both of them have in the general public's eyes and how that image was cultivated by the media. I mean at least a handful of people in this thread have said they had never heard this story about Peyton, yet I bet every single poster on this site know the story of Cam stealing a laptop. I'd think an incident that can very easily be elevated to sexual assault is a far more serious incident than petty theft. And that doesn't even get into the actions of the Mannings since the incident occurred.
Yet I'm the one accused of having white guilt, whatever the hell that is, for recognizing the discrepancy in how their respective pasts and images are presented. I think they're both jackasses, though both are fun to watch play football.

You know why cam is hated? Here's a brief run down:
-His "scandal" came in the days of Internet and unlimited publicity. It is not comparable with Peyton's "scandal". That's where the comparison between the two ends.
-He dresses like Liberace
-He was involved in a huge cheating allegation that he blew off like an a-hole "you know like they say, it's an ongoing investigation" smiling
-he acts like an a-hole after each time he scores or makes a good play.
-he acted like a bitch in the super bowl.
-he can't handle himself in front of the media.
Yeah, all of those things he's hated for because he's black. Totally. If he were white he would get away with it.
Go frick yourself. Your kind are honestly ruining our society.

And there is no way that could be due to the fact that the Manning incident happened almost a quarter century ago - before a lot of the posters here were even born - and the Cam situation came to public light in 2010 right? It HAS to be because one is white and the other is black, right?
Come on. Give me a break.
Do a google search and set the date limit to 2004. The Manning story was EVERYWHERE. The assertion that it was ignored is an absolute blatant lie. King knows it, but as others have shown he has a problem with the truth when it is inconvenient to his agenda.
The story isn't out now because it is old news. Nobody cares. In 15 years, nobody will care about Cam's laptop either.
