The final score was 45-30. Watch the highlights from that game in the OP. Danny Wuerffel torched us for over 400 yards through the air. We couldn't stop them. Our corners could not cover their wide receivers. It was the first and only game in the Gene Stallings era where our defense gave up 40+ points. Guess who our DC was that year. Mike DuBose. No coincidence then that 1996 was the statistically worst defense Stallings had at Alabama.

From what I remember of that game, it was a lot worse of a beating than the final 15 point spread.

Alabama was a dead man walking before that game. Stayed competitive for a good portion but had nowhere near the guns they needed to win a shootout. And let's face it, there was no stopping that Florida offense. Alabama was down 45-28 and Florida gave us a mercy safety at the end.
