Talented guard Kai-Leon Herbert de-commits from Michigan, considering Florida and Auburn (SECCountry)
quote:

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage 4-star OT commit Kai-Leon Herbert told Land of 10 on Sunday that he has de-committed from the Wolverines following a visit to Miami.

Herbert had been wavering on his commitment for some time, but finally made the decision on Sunday.

“Things just went south,” Herbert told Land of 10. “There were some other factors … it just wasn’t good.”

One of Herbert’s main recruiters was Jedd Fisch, the quarterbacks coach who earlier this month left Ann Arbor to become offensive coordinator at UCLA. He told Land of 10 that was among the reasons that stood out and led to his decision.

He is down to Auburn, Florida and Miami. I have my 247Sports Crystal Ball on the Gators.

Auburn target Ryan Johnson talks final decision, Stanford acceptance (SECCountry)
quote:

Between Auburn and Stanford, Johnson said he feels like he is closing in on a decision, but he wants to wait until the end of the week or early next week to finalize his commitment.

“They’re pretty even honestly. They’re really good schools,” Johnson said. “I’m trying to figure it all out.”

Once he received the Stanford acceptance, it changed the game for Johnson.

Luckily for Auburn, the Tigers were able to host him on an official visit immediately after. The combination of Auburn players from Mobile and Auburn commits also on campus gave the Tigers a strong push throughout the weekend.

“I’m just happy to be back up here. I haven’t been up here since a football game, so I loved it,” Johnson said. “I didn’t want to make any hasty decisions considering I’m (committing) either Friday or Monday. I didn’t want to jump the gun on anything. I’ve got to go home and write down the pros and cons.”

Stanford will give Johnson an in-home visit Tuesday. Auburn will make the trip Wednesday.

What will help either school stand out?

“Somewhere I’m comfortable with. Somewhere, if I get hurt, I can see myself there taking regular classes, getting along with players and coaches. Somewhere with a winning program,” Johnson said. “Nobody likes losing, so I’ve got to go somewhere I can win.”
