I honestly feel you're the one with insanely fricked up priorities. A favorite sports team is not that big of a deal, and doesn't have to be reflection of your life's journey. It's just a fricking sports team. Who cares this much who someone roots for?

Yeah rooting for your school is fricked up. That makes sense.

Which is exactly why it shouldn't be a big deal to put your team first instead of going out of your way to associate with a winning program above and beyond your actual university.

University teams are more than brands, more than NFL-lite teams. They represent the university. It matters because higher education matters.

When the football program acts bad it reflects poorly on the school. Ask Penn St. fans about that.

That also means that what happens to the university reflects on you as a graduate. To deny that in some attempt to tie yourself to a "better" brand is front-running vanity at its worst.

But if you want to do that go ahead. This is America. I can't stop you.

Just don't be offended when I exercise my freedoms as an American and call you a piece of shite for doing it. Because you are a piece of self hating shite (not you genro, I mean Mr MSU).
