I know there were rumors floating around it had to do with the Ole Miss portion of his recruitment, but I never read any specifics on what the reasoning was for his suspension except for that it was a NCAA amateurism issue.

EDIT : We know 100% for fact it was an amateurism issue, not steroids.

He lifts too much weight and it was stressing the rest of the team out. They felt suspension was the best way to go for now.

Combination of steroids, deer antler spray and HGH.

...since he was about 16 years old.

Makes sense, but not sure how that would result in the 4 game amateurism issue suspension.

Just by looking at him, if I had to guess he failed a piss test for steroids. No way you can get that big by that age without doing roids. Dude looks like a 35 year old man.

He's on roids and received impermissible benefits.

Same as every other Bama player since 2007

We know for a fact it was an amateurism issue, which means that it had something to do with his recruitment or enrollment. The tone of the folks from Alabama made it sound like it had nothing to do with our recruitment of it, but nobody ever really followed up on the "if not then who" side, leading a lot of people to wonder if it was the Ole Miss side (because they were the only real threat the last 6 months).

What makes you think we just started that in 2007? We started shortly after AU began doing it - at the dawn of time.

We gave him a duffel bag of gold bars to take an in home visit from Hugh.

He immediately ate the gold and converted it to muscle. Kid is a scientific anomaly.
