You are also forgetting the role that politics plays in punishment decisions by the NCAA. Miami and OU were out of control in the 80's and nothing of significance happened to them. But then SMU and A&M had examples made of them. There are several untouchable schools: Notre Dame, Texas, and Michigan. And then others are treated better than the rest. Unfortunately, I think Ole Miss will not have enough "political pull" and will have examples made of them. OM is not like UNC or Miami.
