I don't think Alabama passed Auburn in enrollment until sometime while I was there. Now, it has 10K more kids than they do.

The problem with Alabama's growth is they are having to offer the moon to out of state students to reach those numbers. With more than 50% of the student population being from out of state, UA is having to accept lower instate students to keep the numbers reasonable. It has become a big concern with the Legislator that the School is becoming an Education Mercenary at the expense of the Alabama Taxpayers (who built and maintain the infrastructure).
