NWA has ruled high school football in the state since 1988
What? Not even close man.
Pine Bluff has won titles in 1990, 93, 94, 95, 2014, & 2015
El Dorado has won titles in 2009, 10, 11, & 13
Texarkana has won titles in 2006 & 2007
Then you have Little Rock Central who leads the state with 31 state championships.
We also aren't counting all of the state titles that have been won in Rison, Warren, Nashville, Junction City, or the run Barton went on in the 1990's.
The NWA schools have become more successful with the decreased number of schools they can play against. Since the inception of 7A football, where all they have to do is beat each other, then play a down trodden Little Rock school district school, or play one of their conference foes for a state title.

And considering that there are 10 NWA schools in 7A (if you count Ft. Smith) vs. 6 in Central AR, the odds are a little in favor of a NWA team being the champion.

5 of 8 schools in the 7A West have won a state title since the last one that was one by a 7A Central team in 2004.
Of course, if you want to narrow it down even further, Fayetteville and Bentonville have won 8 out of the last 9 state titles.
