You left off their '93 season. They went 11-1 and lost the Orange Bowl (the Bowl Coalition Alliance National Championship game that year) to FSU, 18-16. If Nebraska's kicker could've made a 40+ yard FG on the last play of the game, Nebraska would've won 3 straight titles...even so, they made it to 3-straight title games...

I also posted earlier that the number of top 5 opponents was essentially the same. Nebraska was able to log 3 undefeated seasons. Alabama was only able to do it once. Also, you cannot deny that Alabama has had a lot of luck getting into a handful of their national championship games (2011 and 2015 in particular).

Nebraska's bowl opponents were substantially harder than Alabama's as well.

ETA: Frick that. I change my mind. Nebraska showed up in their big games. They didn't just win, they broke the will of their opponent. They get the nod in my book
