In fairness to Bronc.....we were needing a RB going into last years draft. Nobody could foresee Freeman's year. It was a bonus. Some did argue that if Gurley were available we should take him. BUT, most people, and certainly most of the experts said the Falcons HAD to have a pass rusher.

We didn't need to draft a RB in the first round even if we didn't have Freeman on the roster. It's been proven a billion times you can get good running back play just about anywhere. It's a crap shoot. The same cannot be said about other positions, like LEO pass rushers. Is Gurley awesome? Yes. Is he a a step above most backs? Yes. Would it have been a horrible pick for Atlanta? Yes
