Right? Geez!

Devil's advocate here: Maybe the guy is a very good recruiter. A lot of recruiting is personality and likability as relationships/bonds are forged. Maybe a coach with strong ties to the midwest proves to be a blessing in disguise, and we pull in several studs wanting to play in the SEC and in a warmer climate, without having to go head-to-head with Bama, LSU, and Georgia.

The bills this year didn't have much to work with up front and massively out performed expectations. If this guy is the one responsible for that then I'm okay with it. I just hope this guy can recruit.

Faith in Bert and all that.

He's young, and I personally think that being promoted to an NFL offensive line coach as quickly as he was might have been slightly overwhelming. Especially without the oversight of someone who knows what they're doing, at least as far as the offensive line is concerned (which is definitely not an area of specialty for Rex Ryan).
Moving back down to the college ranks at a more established program, where he has a very successful mentor makes a lot of sense. I also get the feeling that Bret wanted to bring in someone young that he could groom and show the ropes.
It makes sense for both parties, and eventually I'm sure Anderson will move back into the NFL and see success, and might even return to the college ranks as an offensive coordinator for a power run program. He's young and has a long career of him, and this move is probably a smart one if you're considering longer term success.

Michigan grad, wonderful guy. he hasn't had many opportunities to recruit at a high level but he will be lights out in that respect.
