Watching the UH vs FSU game I have to ask. I know you have alluded to it, but how close were we to getting Herman really. I love Boom but have a huge want to know.

Nah, got work in the AM so inviting a few friends over and drinking at home. frick driving tonight.

We were so close.
But then LSU threatened to fire Les, Jimbo came into the picture, FSU scrambled, Texas made overtures .... and then we lost to The Citadel.
So were probably were not that close.
We ended-up in excellent shape. Things will work-out for the best. Boom is going to end-up being the greatest coach in our history and we're going to look back twenty years from now ... well, y'all will anyway ... and remember this thread.
Boom is going to be the man here. He is part of our destiny.
ETA: and I was reminded today .... if not for Herman the BoTs never would have rushed to get the $50 million upgrades approved .. . which, timing-wise, benefitted us greatly. Otherwise, it might have been Spring, or Summer, with no sense of urgency.
