What do you guys think about the SEC East in 2016?

I think this just further sets up Butch for a no-excuse season. Win the SEC East or bust for sure.

Huge news. Florida will be dependent on a Bama cast-off or a true freshman at QB. UGA will depend on a true freshman at QB as well. The rest of the East is garbage. We draw a&m from the West.

It is definitely Tennessee's to lose.

We get a favorable draw from the West, and every team not named Georgia and Florida in the East is a nearly guaranteed win. Florida don't have a QB, and Georgia have a True Freshman, the stars are aligning for Butch there's no excuse next season.

We weren't playing Roid Boy anyway so it doesn't matter for us. It may matter for Mizzou and others at the tail end of their schedule. Don't they play OM @Oxford next year? If so, a Grier-less UF ups the chances of OM handing them a conference loss.

That all said, UF does have that Del Rio kid and Mac will have a full offseason to find his QB. I don't expect it to be as bad as Treon but an inexperienced QB on the road in Knoxville against a salty Tennessee DL is in for a ride (assuming we don't have tons of preseason injuries).

Tennessee definitely in the driver seat, UGA will be interesting, Missouri is assembling a good little coaching staff as well

4th year under Butch, plenty of talent and enough depth, there is no excuse to at least, fight for the east until the end.

The way I read it, it was more about UF's ability to generate offense next year for the duration of the season, rather than just in your matchup.

I'd agree with many of the posters in this thread, if Butch can't get it done next year, I'm not sure he'll ever get you where you want to be, particularly if you see late game breakdowns similar to 15. Definitely seems like a put up or shut up season.

While I agree that this is the year CBJ will and should be judged, it wasn't UF's offense that won that game. I hate to admit it but it was our defense that fricked things up - with Cam on the sideline with a nosebleed, Maggitt out for the year, and tons of other injuries as well as freshmen and first time starters so early in the year the defense was lost and we paid for it. They also couldn't stop 4th and a mile to save their lives. (Medley, our FG kicker, deserves some blame as well as he missed critical FGs in that game as well as the other heartbreakers).

Defense should've been a strength this year but because of all the issues there it turned into a liability and a huge disappointment.

Talk to me about this again next season. I will be interested to see if it's still talent vs. coaching. We watched the shite show combination of Willie Martinez and John Jancek (in reverse) for a little while too. Just not sure those guys know how to get off the field on 3rd/4th down.

It's usually a combination. If they had Treon Harris at QB, there's no effing chance the complete that comeback. You guys likely blow them out by 30. God only knows how the frick we lost to that guy twice. Well... maybe not even God because I hear he and Richt were tight.

I really wish yall would stop talking about that god forsaken game, I'd like to stop thinking about

FTR, I think the Martinez/Jacek combo blows donkey dick but get ready cause come next offseason all our fans will forget about all that and the hype machine will reach a gear it hasn't in a long, long time

I'm not looking forward to it

Fair enough. I'd like to stop thinking about the first offensive play of the UT game... and everything starting with about a minute and a half left in the first half.

I mean, I think we're all prepared for it... but no one can every *really* be prepared for the pre-season hype that is the UT fan base. Has anyone proclaimed to be "back" louder than UT for more consecutive years?

Honestly, I think you guys should have enough talent and a good window to get it done. Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

I stand by it. But obviously all fan bases have their extremists.
