That's brutal honesty. And honesty is the best of things, especially for fans of a team they're truly passionate about. Honesty is what causes fans to be a net "chill" when things look bad when they AREN'T bad... and honesty causes enough UNrest when things are legitimately bad to force change.
I believe the math towards the road of championships is in the favor of the MOST realistic/honest fan bases. With one exception. Delusion is a powerfully useful but positive tool when things are bad and have NO damn hope of getting better for the foreseeable future... when your team sucks, and you have bad coaches, and a stupid athletic department... it's a great psychological method to "live in the past."
That being said, LSU is no where NEAR the latter. So, honesty is a solid choice from my perspective. I believe there to be no truer type of fan than your ilk. I'd be the same way. Sure, it's been good since Saban got here... but stuff sucked from Dubose to Shula. That was a really, really shitty stretch.
Great counterpost. LSU doesn't know how close they were. Get a QB and match his skills with plays that have a chance to succeed and you are 11-1 at worse. I'm not a coach. I'm just a fan but even I could see Brandon Harris needed practice throwing it more in those early games. A 1 dimensional offense can't win championships, well not unless you are Bama 1992. But, you have to develop some balance on offense and I posted it several times leading up to the Bama/LSU game.
Having said all that, losing Chavis was critical and that could be the real decline from here out. You are now leaking from 2 sides of the boat.
