It all depends on how limited. Look, a large factor in this equation is how fast can Eason pick up the playbook and how fast can make reads. Everything in college is extremely accelerated and sure 7-on-7 helps QB's but the speed is still a different level and he will just have to speed up his progressions.

He is at a large disadvantage to Grayson Lambert and Ramsey because they have the experience to know what the speed of the game is like. The fact that Lambert and Ramsey will be working in their third offensive system could be a positive because lets face it the concepts that they will learn aren't much different regardless of the system. They just have to learn terminology. That could be a bad thing as well because they could have developed bad habits.

Personally, I'd like to see Eason start with a small role and work his way fulltime into the system in the later stages of the season. But if he can learn the system at a fast enough rate then you start him early. You just don't want the team to be so limited that we are missing large components of certain packages. IE. First down and 10 packages, redzone packages, two minute packages, etc.

Eason's development will not be comparable to Stafford, IMO. This is due to the rules changes in the summer and the fact that coaches can sit in a room with the players, teach their system, and test the playbook during the summer. When Stafford was around they this was against the rules.

that's huge and can't be understated. Eason will be here in 27 days, he's not going to be behind any of the other QBs as far as picking up the new playbook and terminology. Now, he may be a bit behind on the speed in which he understands it all, but everyone is starting on the same page in this offense.

And I'm not necessarily saying we completely throw him to the wolves, especially since UNC isn't a cupcake. But he damn sure better get some significant snaps in game 1. Lambert, while limited, did show (at least on the stat sheet anyway) that he's fairly safe with the ball. He very well may help us win in game 1. We have a cupcake the next week so eason should get at least a half of gametime. Next week at a bad missouri, more of the same.

We aren't beating ole miss with lambert. I don't think. I'd prefer to let eason take some lumps game 1-3 then let him loose.
