re: Is conference pride the dumbest concept ever?

Have you ever heard the phrase: A rising tide (no pun intended) floats all ships...

The better the conference rep...the more it helps the rep of the individual schools in the conference. The SEC looked bad in the bowls last season and it clearly impacted the conference credibility.

As a side note...I think the conference pride thing is more important to the older fans and to the schools that have been in the conference from the beginning. No offense meant to the expansion SEC schools...but the old school SEC schools built this conference...and the conference reputation, and we are proud of it.

Cheer for us...don't cheer for us...I don't give a crap. But if you compete in the baddest conference in all of college football, be proud and stop trying to take it down.
