I have a friend who flakes a lot...my solution is to tell him what our plans are and we'd love for him to join us but nothing about our plans are dependent on him...if he says can we do it this day or a different time, I just say no...if he shows up great, if not no big deal. Works great.

I may seem like the friend who flakes a lot, but sometimes you guys just won't stop asking to do stuff. My buddy is like this, I love him to death, but a lot of the times I just don't feel like doing anything on the weekends, so quit bugging me almost every day about it. I usually always tell him no, I can't, etc, but he still will not stop asking me. So I say yeah I will, then cancel that day. He still does this, so I don't think he has picked up on it yet.

Trust me, if I wanna hang out, I'll hit you up. Now I don't do this on big weekend traveling or anything like that, just more on casual hangout for a game or something.
