Punt Bama Punt happened when I was in 7th Grade. We didn't win another Iron Bowl until I had already graduated from AU.

We went into the Iron Bowl with a legitimate shot at an NC exactly 3 times before my 50th birthday (1971, 1983 and 2004) and never came close to earning the hardware. Since my 50th birthday we've won one NC and were 13 seconds away from a second. And Gus was a major factor in both of those seasons.

Now is nothing like back then.
