Yes he was. Yet, he never won a national championship at Mizzou nor a conference championship.

Herman was with Meyer last year when Ohio State won a national championship. Doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion that Herman will win a national championship too.

Odom doesn't have anything to show other than a tenacity to "one day be a head coach" and a couple of top 25 ranked defenses (which like I've said before is impressive but not as impressive as solid head coaching experience).

Winning a NC is difficult. I'd like our guy to have been someone that did it's right hand man.

Winning a college football NC is likely the hardest thing for a program to do the first time in all sports. Having a guy that's sat in the office for a few years with a guy that's done it means a lot to me.

A lot more than flipping Temple from the trash heap to the top of their division.
