GP, he was an assistant on championship team. Also had about a 10 year run as a HC. With a few 10 win seasons. When the season was 11 games. And at a time with less parity.

Yes he was. Yet, he never won a national championship at Mizzou nor a conference championship.

Herman was with Meyer last year when Ohio State won a national championship. Doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion that Herman will win a national championship too.

Odom doesn't have anything to show other than a tenacity to "one day be a head coach" and a couple of top 25 ranked defenses (which like I've said before is impressive but not as impressive as solid head coaching experience).
