I don't understand why it is neccesary to replace coaches in order to retain Muschamp. And doesn't Muschamp have control over the defense to make decisions like that anyway?

It's just Finebaum finding something to fill air time with. It's really a Captain Obvious type of statement that keeps the Updykes tuned in (because it's not obvious to them).

Muschamp has control of the D and can fire whoever he wants. Will there be changes? Probably. Who? No clue.

I've never understood the fascination with having to hire guys that are connected to the school like Rocker or Garner. If anything I think it makes some of these guys feel like they have a free pass or they should be above criticism because they played there. What's wrong with bringing in fresh blood and a new perspective? I want the best guy for the job regardless of where he played. All this keeping it in house or in the family just breeds a good ol boy structure where growth stops occurring and self interest takes over.
