Alabama jumped on Kennesaw from the opening tip. The Tide led 12-1 early and 21-5 about 11 minutes into the game.

“The first 11 minutes of the first half we were really good on defense,” Johnson said. “Then we fell apart in the last nine minutes. I think they scored 27 points in the last nine minutes of the first half.

“The second half we were just average. They looked at their mistakes yesterday and also where they were successful. We try to show a balance on their videos. It’s not all negative here.”

Johnson said the offensive pace was “too slow.”

“The wings need to run harder, the bigs need to run faster, we need to push the ball faster,” the coach said. “We’ve got to take and make our shots and make better decisions with the basketball.

“All correctable errors – and a lot of those errors have to be corrected when you play such a terrific team like Dayton.”
