No. So long as there are stupid people, racism will continue. And that includes both sides.
I have no problem with building this diversity office, but I don't understand how some office will eradicate racism.

I think it is an effort to fight those who are racist and are present on our campus.

I understand your concern and adding layers of bureaucracy is never a good answer. I feel this is a healthy exploration that hasn't proven itself to not be shrill or demanding. Allowing it to proceed naturally will not harm anyone. I see and hear the undertone of racism regularly and for anyone to act as though it does not exist is Pollyannaish. Hiding it does not make it disappear.
