Quote a few of the protesters were your typical rich white kids who think it's cool to be part of something counter cultural and revel in their white guilt. Till they graduate then they'll go back to doing regular upper middle class white shite.

quite a bit of that is true, most of these white kids are from affluent families/areas and are either confused by the leftist radicals or are just getting involved because they think they'll finally be "cool", after never being cool their entire life. They are wrong in both cases.
