IMO it has more to do with the complete failure to establish a legitimate passing threat. Outside of 2013 all the post-Flynn seasons have been marked by horrible to mediocre QB performances. Saban doesn't respect our QBs and for good reason.

You're not completing to many passes when you constantly run play action with 1 receiving threat
