No one sends 10 cops for a noise complaint.

Its really not uncommon to send several cops when they know the noise complaint is an ongoing party with several people. Especially in a non-violent town with a large police force that has nothing better to do than bust up parties (like a college town). I've seen this happen in a few different towns including Tuscaloosa.

In Hoover in HS I actually witnessed cops block off a culdesac and have 5 cruisers (2 to a car) on the street just to bust up a house party.
Hell, I've been spotlighted in the woods by a police helicopter while they had officers wait by the tree line to nab people running out and more units by people's cars in case they got past.

Bored police departments put a lot of effort into stopping kids from having fun

It looked like there may have been 10 people at that party.

I cant even begin to describe the idiotic efforts Gardendale has put in on multiple occasions to bust up bonfires in the woods. 10-12 folks sittin in lawn chairs around a bonfire, a couple hundred feet from the nearest tree or foliage (usually a power line trail), drinking cold beers, talkin and laughin and listening to the radio. All of a sudden, surrounded by no less than 8 sets of headlights, idiots screaming across bullhorns, 8 sets of obnoxious flashing lights.... Most of us would just sit there and keep drinking our beer and talking. We'd pull our our wallets and get our ID ready and just hold it up when they came over, never breaking our conversation. It would piss them off so bad. They'd grab one of us and start yelling at us about being where we dont belong and to pack up and get the frick out... then I'd produce my gate key and written permit to the land and smile.

The looks on their faces never got old.

I live here and this doesn't accurately describe Tuscaloosa.
