I'm betting this was a case of about 5-8 black players on the team feeling strongly about doing this, and the rest not wanting to seem like they don't care about their race and not participating. Isn't that kind of how a mob mentality works?
I just don't see what they're trying to accomplish by ousting the university president, when they could be doing much more productive, positive things to quell possible racism on campus. I don't know about the day to day life on campus there, it could be really horrible for all I know. I just think their energy could be focused elsewhere and it would speak to their cause so much more.
