Been living up in Detroit Metro area for the last 5 years, but my family is all down in Mississippi. Looking to possibly get back down in that area. Put in for a support position within Shelby County Schools for Analyst for their Nutrition Distribution department. Pays half decent (not OT Baller pay or anything).

Just curious if anyone works or has worked in that district in any capacity. I realize I have to be a resident of Shelby county prior to starting employment, but I have that covered.

Shelby County schools are a gangster's paradise. Are you well versed in hand to hand combat?

Fairly recent developments. For what it is worth, there are a lot of great kids in Shelby County Schools and they need all the help they can get. Need good people supporting that system.

^Very true. Also, November is tax free month at all the local military surplus stores. Check on the body armor. Or at least by a copy of Morgan Freeman's "Lean on Me" and get really good at playing out that role on a daily basis.

Heck, with the exceptions of Germantown Middle and Germantown high school (the buildings, not the students, for the most part), they ARE the Memphis City School system. All the individual municipalities formed their own school systems. Went from 2 school systems to 7 or 8.
