Of course there is more to the equation. However, it has been the prevailing opinion in this thread that final rankings and opinions at the end of the season are the only way to judge the quality of a win or loss, and Jeff Long just directly stated that this is not the case. Period.

I don't know who was saying final rankings are all that matters. It's not even up for debate that final rankings will mean more than rankings at the time played. I'm sure the committee "considers" plenty of information that is ultimately as meaningless as those rankings. Period.
