God I miss that kid. He may have had a reputation among referees but he also had a reputation from opposing teams receivers too.

Swearinger epitomized Carolina football during his run. Great play, hard hits, and swagger. I understand the desire for an offensive dynamo-style coach, but if I have to choose one, I want a team that plays defense like the 2011-2013 Gamecocks.

Make every yard difficult.

DJ's Grandmother used to walk down to one of our restaurants all the time and ask me to show her the latest DJ highlight videos. She was sneaky about this because she didn't want the grandkids to know she was doing this at home.

I wasn't always at that location but she knew my truck and would look for it every couple of weeks or so ... she was very elderly, but she would come down there when she saw my truck before we opened and we would sit down and watch videos in the manager's office.

So she always liked the hitting, violent, videos but she would cringe and make grandmotherly sounds of shock ... she was very proud of him.

Then one day she sees this other suggested video, it was of DJ working out in the weight room and someone had put some background rap music (if that's what you want to call it) on the video and she wanted to watch it ... so the video starts playing and this rap music was full of vulgarities and she watched the entire video without making a comment or a sound. Then she looks at me and she says, "When he comes home this weekend I am going to spank is little black arse for playing that trash!"

I laughed so hard employees could hear me in the kitchen. She was angry when she left too ... that woman was a pistol. DJ worshiped the ground she walked on though.
