James Byrd, Jr. might have found the confederate symbol in Mississippi's flag downright terrifying.
Who are you to tell him he shouldn't've?
It can often represent power of some over others that people in free societies reject.

Damn, talk about irrelevant. The same could be said of an Irishman who died at the hands of a Tory. Are we to remove the Union Jack from the Hawaiian flag?
