Obviously, we all know about Miles' history with fake field goals especially against us.

But look at the situation of the game and appreciate how ballsy of a call it was.

Tie game, 10 minutes to go, Florida's defense had shut down LSU's offense the entire second half, it was 4th and 13.

Earlier in the game, I said out loud to nobody in particular "watch for the fake punt", but in this case, I did not expect it at all.

It was a ballsy call that took a ton of guts to make. I'm not mad at the coaching staff for not expecting it in that situation.

Also a side note about the play itself, they had to get to the 3 yards line for a first down. It looked like Hargreaves could have dove at his feet to bring him down short at about the 10 yard line but instead was looking to strip the ball. It doesn't matter now, but I don't understand what VH3 was doing on that play.

If you can stomach to watch it again, here is what I'm talking about

Picture VH3s field of vision at the snap. He is standing on the end of the line looking at the Kicker, Holder. At the snap, the kicker sprints to the left which should have been obvious to him that it was a fake. In his defense, it might not have been his responsibility but had he reacted when he saw the kicker take off in the opposite direction than he should have, he could have made the play.
This was one of several failures by the defense that cost us this game. I hope to see a comeback in 2 weeks against UG. go Gators.

Anytime you play a Les Miles team, YOU ALWAYS look for a fake punt, FG, onside kick... ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, even in a blowout. You said you didn't expect it. Well that's you. Me and five other friends were screaming, "watch the fake". The coaching staff has to prepare the players for it.

TBH, I was more upset with the flea flicker. Perfect timing on their part but our boys were not prepared. You knew they would dial up trick plays. I'm also disappointed that McElwain refuses or doesn't realize that he can challenge a call. Several times this season, he not only did not challenge but he lined up the offense quickly running the next play instead of giving the replay booth more time to review.

Happy with the team's effort and no quit but McElwain got outcoached. Our lack of running game didn't help either.

Davis was back spying for the fake but was double teamed by 2 LSU blockers. Perfect execution!

Honestly this, because he seems to pick the worst times to do them. Our field goal kicking has been, uh, suspect to say the least. A 3 point lead is not a problem against us. If that play failed, he would have looked unbelievably stupid, but as usual he just gets all the luck.
