Remember what the Senate Democrats did to Bush's judicial appointments throughout both terms of his presidency? Sheer, unadulterated obstructionism. Just think if the Republicans had tried that. You would have thought that the sky was falling.
You mean like they are doing right now?

1. Where was Politico when this was happening to Bush's nominations? What major media outlet was championing Bush's nominations and deriding Senate Democrats for halting the nominations?
2. How many nominations were held up by the Democrats for the 8 years of Bush's presidency vs. now?
3. How many nominations were made during those years for vacancies vs. now (Remember-there has to be a vacancy for a nomination-so the statistic of fewest confirmations doesn't hold any water unless compared in light of the number of vacancies and nominations. If this is too much mental gymnastics, then from the article here is the number based on bare confirmations: "So far, Obama has gotten 311 judges installed nationwide — compared with 276 for Bush at the same point in his presidency.")
This is priceless:
“It’s ridiculous,” said Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, who chaired the Judiciary Committee when Democrats held the majority. “They’re trying to politicize the courts. And it’s irresponsible. I refused to do that with President Reagan. I refused to do that with President [George W.] Bush.”
