If you're willing to make an outlandish statement (especially crowing about how a previous prediction coming true indicates another prediction will also come true), be prepared to back it up.

Not true at all. Having it in writing and signed just makes it easier to prove the deal existed. It also makes it harder to weasel out of a loophole that typical handshake/verbal agreements leave because they aren't so thorough or able to be proven.
Also, if you welch on this bet, I sincerely hope you're kicked off the Vandy board.
