Don't really see too big of a difference between Arnold and say Robert E Lee, if anything Arnold seems more sympathetic.

Really? That has to be one of the most ignorant things I have seen anyone post anywhere on any message board, and that is saying a lot...

Lee wanted very badly to stand with the Union; but when Virginia voted to secede, he made the patriotic decision to stand with his 'countrymen"

Back then, loyalty to one's home state was seen as being more important than to the country.

Lee made a choice to stand by his convictions and do what he believed to be right.

Arnold licked his finger and stuck it in the air to determine where his loyalties would lie.

One stood by his convictions, the other acted out of expediency.

You are basically calling Lee a traitor, nothing could be further from the truth. Lee was a great patriot that stood by his convictions and lived by a code of honor and integrity - a man we should all strive to be like
