Morris is completely reasonable

I think Morris at SMU is kinda like Briles at Baylor, or Patterson at TCU - it's a destination job for him. He's from Texas, has ties to Texas, and now he's back in Texas. I'm not suggesting that SMU is a more high-profile gig than USC, just that I think this is more of a fit for him.

I don't expect him to be a serious candidate if Spurrier is gone at the end of the year.

As an Aggie, I'm telling you SMU is not his destination job. A&M is, and he wants to play in the SEC. He started as a high school coach in Aggieland. He has hinted a number of times his love for A&M.

Smu is just his first HC opportunity. Nothing more.

He would go to USC, a contender in the east, in a heartbeat. I don't see any scenario where this is not a reasonable thought.

You guys would have a hard time keeping him if A&M of Texas job comes open though, because I do think he would prefer to be in Texas where he is most comfortable recruiting.
