I don't think that nb guy or any Bama fan doesn't respect Blake. He had obvious flaws, he had obvious strengths. It isn't like he was hating on him, just pointing out situations in his opinion that he didn't think Blake played well. All of our players have a list of games we could probably point to in a similar fashion. As for why nb brought them up I'm not sure. There does seem to be a group of people who think Blake was better than he was, but at the same time where is probably a group of people like that for a lot of players in history.

But anyway, I'm sure nb likes Blake. I don't personally know any Bama fans that don't. Hell after one season as a starter he became one of my favorites CFB players of all time, he probably had a similar effect on other Bama fans.

I have nothing against Blake as a person, and have admitted many times he overachieved last year in regards to my expectations. He improved as the year went on and as Kiffin tinkered with the offense. He was and is an outstanding representation of Bama football and the athletic program as a whole.

I brought his performances up because OP (and others) have made a point to compare his beginning to that of our current QBs. I think both performed better than Blake in week 1, and both performed worse in week 2. Obviously there is the factor of those games being against different teams, but I believe in the grand scheme of things, it's hard for people to remember everything about a player's season. I certainly remember the things that Blake did very, very well. However, since I was skeptical of him, I also remember what he did poorly. I feel some fans just tend to remember positives more.

I'm trying to stay objective here. I realize nobody owes objectivity to our players or coaches (I've admitted my own Coker bias plenty on here) but I like to try and keep it as even keel as possible. I thought both played very well week 1, but the team as a whole (Coker very much included) played uninspired. I also thing the offensive gameplan was shoddy. I hope we come out running to set up the playaction because that's what I see as JC/CB's strengths, just like screen passes were the best way to help Blake succeed. And succeed he did for the most part.
