Bateman did not look anywhere close to being as athletic as he was made out to be. He might end up being the best option at qb, but his athleticism isn't going to win any games in the SEC.

Bateman out sprinted everyone on the field on Harris' long run like they were standing still. Doesn't necessarily mean he's has Sims' elusiveness, but if he breaks a run he's not going to get caught.
