It just dawned on me last night that GL is afraid to stand tall in the pocket and take a hit. That, and he doesn't seem to check down and holds the ball too long. But, he wont stand in the pocket and deliver the ball knowing he is going to get blasted. That's why the happy feet, that's why he starts scrambling way before there is any actual pressure.

Which makes the next point really disturbing.

With 37 in the box, and Vandy absolutely not respecting the threat of the pass, GL stands in the pocket ONCE...for like a minute and a half...and gets the ball knocked loose from behind...no pocket awareness at all.

The coach can't unconditionally have the QB's back. At some point he must challange the guy and say he has to step up and play better, not make excuses like "his foot slipped". If the QB is has any salt to him he will step up to the challange and perform. This is what championship quality coaches/teams/quarterbacks do.

He is also afraid to stand in a pocket and not get hit by a ghost. Just awful pocket awareness all around.
