I don't know if that is your intent, but that perfectly describes MSU's response to the whole issue. I wish I could find it, but when the flag debate broke out, they literally made a random post on their facebook page that basically read, "HEY GUYS, WE KNOW OUR STATE HAS A SYMBOL OF RACIAL HATRED IN THE STATE FLAG, BUT IT'S NOT OUR FAULT. OUR FACULTY VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO REDESIGN THE FLAG; HOWEVER, THE DECISION IS NOT UP TO US. AS A RESULT, WE WILL ONLY FLY THE OFFICIAL STATE FLAG WHERE WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. AS THE MOST ETHNICALLY DIVERSE COLLEGE IN THE STATE, WE WELCOME ALL BLACK PEOPLE TO CONTINUE FILING FOR ADMISSION AND TO CONTINUE GIVING US ALL THEIR MONEY" or something along those lines.
