Extremely Concerned
The fact of the matter is this was a sub par FCS team and we are pretty much making excuses for why we did not blow them out by 50.
Defense played their part. I think Barry Odom will end up being recognized as the best DC in the SEC this year.
We are an SEC team, with SEC players at the line of scrimmage and we also consider ourselves in the top tier of the conference. We should have displayed our physical will against that team in the trenches. 3 and outs against this team with our 1's in the 3rd and beginning of the 4th quarter, really? We are really excusing that BS?
Whatever coach or player talk that comes from the locker room whether that was the Boehm/Hansbrough injury, the inexperience, or the lack of focus should not be used to excuse what we say from an O line perspective on saturday.
Pinkel is not in the top 5 in SEC salaries with getting paid 4 million dollars to be average. If we are going to continue to schedule the way we schedule then we should put up the numbers to justify our superiority and our standing in the conference. Perception matters.
