Ya know. Some good points made about Mauk on both sides. If those two TD passes are caught (and they were pretty well thrown balls), it would put a different look on his performance. My bigger problem with Mauk is there are just too many series that do absolutely nothing. We need to be able to give the D a breather. That's what absolutely killed us in the Georgia game last year. Nearly every series was a 3 and out or a turnover. The D was constantly on the field and it caught up to them.

Agreed, reedus. While I'm excited about Lock, this is Mauk's team right now and it should be. Mauk has the experience, and that will be critical as the competition improves. Lock is the future, but we need Mauk to play well. We have very young receivers who made some mistakes and will continue to do so. Their drops made Mauk look worse, and while admittedly his performance wasn't great, it did the job.

I also believe having Hans and Boehm go down early screwed us up. Obviously, Hans is the biggest part of the running game. And losing Boehm's experience and leadership on the OL hurt. I don't think the loss there can be underestimated. Hope they're both ready to go for next week's game.

Sam Bailey, one of those Missouri 2*'s recruited on the OLine had 1 TFL in the game. Have they moved him to the defensive side? Anyone hear or see this? I know I've been watching and waiting for him to put on weight as an OLineman, but at 265 maybe they decided to put him on the other side of the line on an end? I dunno.

This game really showed the margin of error when it comes to perception.

Moore dropped a TD, couple plays later int. +7 points

Brown dropped a TD led to a FG. +4 points.

Reese drops an easy one that kills a 2 minute drive.

Couple plays that receivers didn't finish or ran routes wrong.

All those add up to Mizzou putting up 45-50 points. And they can all be corrected as the season progresses.
