Should have done it in like Indianapolis or somewhere more central. Bama fans will travel anywhere.

Texas is a long trip from Wisconsin and their fanbase was just there last year for a similar kick-off game.

This is true, but real talk here: Alabama fans have spent a shite load of money on neutral site games the last few years. I think even Alabama fans, who travel well, are getting a little burned out on the neutral site games.

2008:

Neutral site opener in Atlanta
SECCG in Atlanta
BCS Bowl in NO

2009:

Neutral site opener in Atlanta
SECCG in Atlanta
BCSCG in Pasadena

2011:

BCSCG in NO

2012:

Neutral site opener in Arlington
SECCG in Atlanta
BCSCG in Miami

2013:

Neutral site opener in Atlanta
BCS Bowl in NO

2014:

Neutral site opener in Atlanta
SECCG in Atlanta
Playoff in NO

That is a lot of travel time and money for big neutral site games the last few years.
