Personally, I think this is more political savvy than anything. From the GOP perspective, we've seen how even the allegations of, say, Russian tampering have put you on the constant defensive. Why not give the other side a taste of their own medicine? Even as someone who voted for Trump, I don't believe for a second that any actual tapping happened. However, the allegation begs for a response from the other side (even if that response is "pffft"
), and puts them on the defensive (somewhat) for the first time, really, since Trump took office. I'd rather there have been some solid, actionable evidence released before this hit the news circuit, but like I said, I don't think that was ever the end game.

I think I'm 90% in that camp, but I thought I read from something non-conspiracy that he actually tried in the summer and the FISA courts denied them. If he actually thought it was appropriate to get a wiretap, who knows? Although I don't trust anything to be true at this point. I can't get worked up over any of these allegations or the evidence surrounding it because I just assume everything is some degree of completely untrustworthy.

He had some pretty strong momentum from his speech and this just killed it I think. I've wanted to get behind Trump and started to again after it seemed like he was turning a corner last week then he does this.
I pretty much feel the same way I did when I voted for him, that he was the lesser of two evils but I don't really like him or believe he will do a good job

I just don't think it proves any of what Trump is saying unless it was specifically ordered by Obama and not, say, Comey.
