It's actually horrible. It's nothing like in the movies when a person wakes up and confusedly stumbles around for a bit. I learned taking my CNA classes several years ago that people waking up from having been in a coma for a very long time have completely forgotten how to walk, and the mere act of raising their heads causes them to pass out. They need to be slowly rehabbed by having the head of their bed cranked each day to a slightly higher altitude.
I don't know how long a person has to be in a coma to reach that level of exhaustion and muscle loss, but I know it's like a living hell once they do.
