i keep most of money stuff separated from friends. my only exceptions are on flat rate situations.

i have a friend that is the #1 realtor in town and a top 10 Remax realtor in Texas. there's no problem using him there.

one lawyer friend did my will at his flat rate he does for everybody else.

one friend does my taxes and charges the same as everybody else.

another friend owns a series of auto repair shops and i make sure to not ever let him know if we have one in there so he doesn't try to give a discount or anything.

that's about the list of things i'll use friends for. for me, anything else is asking for trouble.
