Does anybody call it a "Georgia bulldogs game"? It just sounds weird.
"Well I went to the Georgia bulldogs game yesterday." If you said that to me, I'd think it was your first sporting event ever. Am I outta the loop on something? You went to the UGA game.

It is weird to say outside of Georgia and maybe the surrounding states. Once you get away from Georgia, you'll need to be more specific. Hell, I've had job interviews in other states that have all featured this same basic exchange:
"Where did you do your undergraduate work?
"Georgia; UGA" [found that if you just say UGA, most interviewers assume you meant "UVA," geography apparently isn't a strong suit for HR heads/hiring partners]
"Oh, Georgia Tech?"
"No, University of Georgia, in Athens"
"Oh, that's supposed to be a fun town."
[Always fun to interview with people who haven't read (or are at least incapable of understanding) the damned resume.]
