Valid point but everyone makes it sound like Bama & Auburn had a 24 point lead in the first 3 minutes of the game.
I can't remember the detail of the Missouri / Auburn game, but in the Missouri / Alabama game it never really felt like Missouri was a threat. They seemed very over matched from the first drive on. I do remember being annoyed at what seemed like 3 or 4 Mauk chuck it up for grabs busted plays that one particular Missouri receiver seemed to get that kept Missouri hanging around. Still it never felt like Missouri was in the game.

We were down 3 going into the 4th.

I sort of had the same feeling but kept thinking that MAYBE we could have a sustained drive to keep our D off the field for more than 2 minutes.

as a bama fan, I don't really blame you for seeing it that way, after all how many teams really beat you at the line of scrimmage? and we knew Mauk wasn't having the kind of year to just shred you with his arm. we've never had the brainpower to engineer a victory with gameplanning, esp against a top power house team, with Gary Pinkel we've beaten a #1 team exactly 1 time and that was a mildly overated OU.. with Odom coming on board at DC I'm expecting a moderately better scheme, we simply have to have better X's and O's to take on the likes of you guys.

Bama was clearly the better team and deserved to win, but consider this...
We did lose our best player in the first quarter and there was a terrible blown fumble call to the end the first half that was a huge swing (the game was 14-3 at that point, and Bama goes in for a TD opening the game up) we did cut the lead to 21-13 late in the 3rd Q but it was all Bama from that point on.
