We only lost the coach that recruited every offensive player on that team to fit his offensive system. I mean, any other coach should be able to replicate Petrino's offensive system, right? John L Smith has shown to be one of the best coaches of all time, surely he could've made some improvements on Petrino's system the following year. And when CBB got here he could've easily kept the ball rolling with that system instead of his own, completely opposite, system. I can't believe I didn't see it until this guy made this post!

I guess Petrino just didn't recruit any players after 2008. I don't care how bad a coach John L Smith is/was, Arkansas should not have gone 4-8 in 2012 and should not have lost to fricking La Monroe. And basically one year in turmoil shouldn't completely destroy a football program unless Petrino flat out stopped recruiting a couple years before getting fired.
