it all depends on where you go. 90% of the places you go in athens you'll either be ignored, brought in for food and drinks, or given some light razzing.
If you're walking down fraternity row on milledge then yeah, you're gonna have a bad time. Simple solution, don't walk down fraternity row on gameday as a visitor.
I've been to a shite ton of stadiums and I've been treated well pretty much everywhere. And even the places I've been treated like shite, it's only because I was amongst a large group of 18-22 year olds who haven't grown up yet, but I don't hold that against the entire town or fanbase.

Yeah is almost always fraternity kids that are the most obnoxious. Which, most of their charters call for gentlemanly conduct, so I don't really get that.
In my experience in college, most of them are kids who were never good enough to be really competitive in any sports, so the football team functions(for them) as an extension of their ego. I did have a few fellow athletes who were members of fraternities, but not one of them acted like asses.
